Another long day.

I feel like I'm always on campus this quarter. I guess I am. Between class and work I'm usually here 6 of the 7 days.

Nothing much to say today. The SARS warning has been lifted for Toronto so the conference should go on as planned. I am glad since I had already bought my ticket through Expedia. #

I've been up since 6:30 this morning because I had an appointment at the health center at 7:50, or so I thought. It turned out the appt. was for Wednesday but they had a spot at 8:50, so I waited. Afterward I drove downtown to pick up a UPS package that I knew I wouldn't have time to get redelivered. It is my first graduation gift, a kick-ass toaster oven/broiler. I went to the library and got books for my Children's Programming assignment that is due on Saturday. Continued back to campus where I ordered my rental masters regalia and a diploma cover, you know the kind we got for free at WMC. No announcements but if you want to come, you know where to reach me. After that, ate lunch and went to work, where I am now. On my 15 minute break, I picked out books for Reach Out and Read Aloud tomorrow morning.

It's going to be a long week. #

It's been so busy at work today I almost thought I wouldn't have time to post.
I saw McSweenys vs. They Might Be Giants last night. It was good. The readings were hilarious and I loved the accompanying music. The second half was just a concert and it was alright but not super great.
When I finally got home after being on campus all day, I had a message from the LA County personnel office. So I called this morning and set up an interview for three weeks from now.
Hopefully I'll hear soon from LA City. #

Well, I am about to mail off my last job application. I had an interview yesterday with AIM that went well but they did not have any jobs to offer me. I'm in their database. I also mailed off my application to the County of Los Angeles Public Libraries. This last application is for the City of Los Angeles Public Libraries. Hopefully within the next month or so the job offers will just come rolling in.

Listened to at work today:
Pedro Guerra- Tan Cerca de Ti
Better than Ezra- Deluxe
X-Files Album #

So this weekend I had class on Saturday, then hung out with friends.

On Sunday I went to Big Lots to buy a mop and ended up also buying a molded plastic desk that fits over your lap when you're sitting up in bed or, as I do frequently, on the couch. So much better for me to eat in front of the tv with. Then I did three loads of laundry, mostly sheets, and cleaned the bathroom. To reward my hard work I rented The Good Girl. I liked it. Jake Gyllenhaal is sooo hot. #

Not a very exciting day.

I started doing Reach out and Read Aloud today. That's where I go to the children's waiting room at the medical center and read aloud to the kids there. Pretty cool but there wern't too many kids there when my partner and I went.

Currently at work where it is a freakin ice box and there has only been one patron so far tonight.

A Mighty Wind comes out tomorrow. I really want to see it.

Listened to at work today:
Matthew Sweet- 100% Fun #

This weekend I finally bought my plane ticket to Toronto and arranged to stay with my aunt and uncle while I attend the American Libraries Association Conference. It should be very cool and exciting.

I also talked to my parents about traveling around with them when they come out pre-graduation. For the week before I graduate, they are going ot go to Zion, the Grand Canyon, and Vegas. Hopefully I'll finish my work early so I can partake in the roadtrip fun. #

I turned in my portfolio. It is short and sweet. Well, it's short at least. I don't really have much to say. I've been drinking way too much coke this week. I think I have had two cokes every day this week, except for today. So far today I've only had one. Coke should be paying me. It's brand loyalty like mine that keeps them in business. #

Well, my portfolio is finished. Right now it is at Kinkos being copied and bound. They said it will be ready by noon tomorrow. That's good because I work from 1-5 so I can turn it in before work. Wonderful!

Listened to at work today:

Beck- Midnite Vultures #

This'll probably be my last post until I get my portfolio turned in on Friday.

Just feeling generally crappy today. My portfolio is due on Friday and I haven't talked to my advisor about it. Couldn't get an appointment with her until Friday morning.

Springing ahead sucks. #

Tried calling the phone number for LA City employment information but could not get a human on the line. Just either a busy signal or ringing forever. I guess I'll try again on Monday so that they know why I sent an incomplete appplication.

Other than that I'm just getting ready for my class tomorrow. Every other Saturday from 9-4. I can't wait. #

Wel, I'm working the night shift. This quarter it is Tuesdays instead of Mondays. I have a headache that will probably be a migraine in a bit.

My first classes of the quarter are tomorrow. 1:30-9 with a half hour break at 5. Lots of fun! I'm looking at the packet of readings for the first class, around 50 double sided photocopied pages. I think I'll read it tomorrow before class. Lot's of Fun!

I also started applying for jobs, online. LA City's online application is crap. It lead me to believe that I could come back and make corrections but I can't. I can only come back and look at my unfinished job info which has apparently been sent. :-P

Maybe tomorrow will be better. #
