Well, yesterday I got my score from LA City. My score is 85 and my rank is 2. There are 4 people with scores higher and 2 with the same score. I'm going to try to go look at the list later today. #

I spent yesterday with my Aunt and we had a movie marathon. We watched 3 DVDs in row. First we watched About A Boy. I really liked it. Great story, great characterization. Next we saw The Ring. This movie scared the crap out of me! I didn't like to ending though. Then we watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding because we needed something lighthearted after being so scared. #

Whew, I had a heck of a time at my LAPL interview today. First, I parked and payed $3 at a meter to find out out I was at the wrong place. I tried to go to 700 WEST Temple Street when I should have been at 700 EAST Temple Street. That'll teach me to scout out the location beforehand. Luckily I had phone with me so I could call and let them know. Also, the person who had the timeslot after me was already there so she got bumped up. The interview itself went pretty well. Not as well as Friday's though because I answered a question wrong. Also they told me that they have a freeze but that there are random windows of opportunity for hiring. Which means you could be called at any random time or not at all for a second placement interview. Well, all I can do is wait for my score and rank and hope for a window of opportunity.

Now I need to concentrate on my page long "to do" list of class assignments, etc.

I gave my notice so my last day of work is May 28th. Goodbye fast internet connection.

Why are these two news stories not more publicized? This is people's health we're talking about.

First is the finding that the popular spermicide Nonoxyl-9 causes increased risk of STD transmission in women because it is an irritant.

The second is this finding about the necessity of breast self-exams which was buried in the back of the front section of Friday's LA Times. #

I had my first real interview today. I think it went very well. I have to wait 2-3 weeks for the results, then the phone calls from individual branches start.

One down, one to go. #

I never did understand the point of wearing a skirt with jeans or pants and today I saw two women doing this. Why? It's not even in style anymore and even when it was, it looked stupid.

I'm skipping out on Reach Out and Read Aloud tomorrow because I just want to sleep.

I mailed off the letter to the manager telling him that my roommate and I are moving out at the end of the lease. I talked to Verizon and The Gas Company about stopping service. I still need to speak with the LA DWP. Their hold queue was too long for me.

I am so ready to move out of the Westside. #

I passed my portfolio!!! Woohoo!

I celebrated by going out with my friends for ice cream and beer. Oh yeah!

Now I just need to prepare for my interviews, finish up my class work, and find a new apartment. #

Today I got to do SRLF pulling which I haven't gotten to do in a while. It's a nice break but you used to do it in pairs and now you do it alone. :-(

My outside panelist is an alumnus who works at USC special collections/rare books. #

Last night I saw X-2- X-Men United. I enjoyed it, I don't know that it was worth $8.50, but it was fun.

This week I am focused on my portfolio presentation which is on Friday. This is when I will find out if I am graduating or not. My outside panel member has been chosen, so I'm going to try to find out who they are. #
